THE SLOC VS THE IOC BRIBERY OR NOT

Abstract

There’s a thin line between lobbying and bribery. The difference in the two has to do with the was money handed off to a person compared to money being donated to a party. In the assignment that I have just read there was one particular question that was very challenging. The question was asking how the SLOC can defend their selves against the FACP. After doing hours of resource I found an article in the New York Times that explained what the charges were that could be filed.

THE SLOC VS THE IOC BRIBERY OR NOT

There are not a lot of differences between lobbying and bribery. Lobbying for example is someone is running for an official position and a lobbying party says we will support you by donating to your campaign and political support. Bribery is if you promise me to do what I say I will give you land and money. So one is directing you to do something the other one is sub jesting you to. The punishment for violating legal and ethical principles are always different depending on what state you are in for example in the SLOC case they could not be prosecuted under FACP because it was a misdemeanor in their state. The community should not pay for the mistake of the lobbyist do the community not having any part of the bribery case. It should be limited to the expulsion of the whole lobbying committee and its members.
