Decisions in Paradise

Kava is a significant island country in the South pacific. Over half of the population is under the age of 15 and there is a large mixture of different ethnic backgrounds. The citizens of Kava have about four religions that there recognize Indigenous, Christian, Buddhist, and Islamic. The languages that are spoken in Kava are indigenous, English, Spanish, and French. This country has faced several natural disasters threats, including hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, and floods. Kava has seen several disasters and it has left the country in a total mess. The country is struggling economically and is in desperate need of help. Nik, a newly hired employee has been assigned to work in Kava, and assist with the rebuilding process. Nik will work alongside Alex, who is the Director of Strategic Planning during trip to Kava. Nik must use his skills and critical thinking skill her learned from college to assist Alex in making a better Kava.

Alex explained to Nik that Kava had been hit several types of disasters. The natural disasters include Tidal waves/tsunami, typhoons/hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fire, and volcanic eruptions. These disasters are the reason why Kava is a mess. It appears Kava has been struck by one or more of these disasters within a small time frame. This country has suffered tremendously. Not only have natural disasters taken its toll on Kava, health-related epidemics have too. The people of Kava are face with HIV/AIDS and a high risk of avian flu. With the back to back disasters one can expect an outbreak of health-related issues and Kava seems to have seen its share.
