One of the best science fiction books ever written through out the history, ‘Brave New World’ is a utopian/dystopian novel published in 1931 by Aldous Huxley who foresaw a future society in a skeptical way.

Brave New World is about a dystopian society in which everyone belongs to one another. At birth people are controlled to be exactly what The Director wants them to be. Parents don’t exist in this society so all children are raised by the same people therefore think the same ways. Brave New World is all about the reasons why a child needs parents who are uniquely their own. After the first couple days of developing in test tube embryos are divided into five categories, Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon. In the conditioning rooms infants learn the characteristics the need to have to be good citizens. Alpha’s and Beta’s are the intellectual leaders of the society. Gammas and Deltas are the work horses, and are second in command. Finally the Epsilons might as well be slaves because they are treated like so. The protagonist Lenina is like everyone else. She believes that everyone belongs to one another. Unlike all the others she is courted by one man, Henry Foster. Her best friend tries to tell her it was wrong to only bed one man, but Lenina had rebellious instincts. About that time Lenina meets Bernard, a man who works with developing embryos. Bernard introduces Lenina to a new way of thinking. As Bernard courts Lenina he takes her on vacation to a Choctaw reservation. While on their visit they attend a strange ritual involving the praise of Jesus. They meet Linda, and her young son John who explain to them about the customs and beliefs of the Indians. As their friendships begin to progress. Bernard learns that Linda was taken from the city, because she got pregnant. Unlike the savages she was literate, and knew the teachings of the modern society.
