Introduction

The Broadway Café is a coffee shop that is located in Atlanta, GA. The Café was recently inherited by relatives following a death in the family. The Café offers a variety of services from coffee, teas, bakery items, sandwiches, soups, and salads. The business has declined in the last five years. New methods need to implement to make the business thrive again. Mr. Wallace was the owner and unfortunately with his death, he took all of his knowledge about running the business along with him.

Mr. Wallace had a system of record keeping that consists mainly of a notepad that he used to track his inventory, payroll, and any coupons that he had given out. His advertising was by word-of-mouth and did not consist of anything marketing plan. He had an excellent memory so all his family recipes or clients were never recorded. The business needs to be brought into the 21st century in order for it thrive and maintain a business.

I. Buyer Power

a. Finding out the buyer’s choices and what they would like for you to serve them in the café. This may include different coffees, teas, and other food products.

b. Find out the size of the items they would like to buy. Example would be, do most prefer a large over a small coffee or what kind of a sandwich would they like whether it is a sub or just a small regular sandwich.

c. Change of cost and the frequency of the items that you supply

II. Supplier Power

d. What brand of coffee would you be serving and what is the reputation for that brand. How will the customers respond to the brand?

e. Product quality will be important to the customer as far as taste and smell.

f. Supplier located and how fast an order can be shipped or delivered to the café.
