Club IT Part I

Music, dancing, friends, spirits, and overall fun are what Club IT located downtown has to offer. With any business there are always things that happen behind the scenes to make it work. Though Club IT has an enjoyable atmosphere there could be some room for improvement. In this report there are three areas that have been identified where some improvement could be used along with the identification of resources and some ideas of how to make the suggested improvements. Incorporation of some management systems will also be used to show how Club IT might make changes to its business and possibly become more profitable.

Some of the areas of improvement for Club IT that have been identified would include; information management, reservations for private parties, and suppliers. With all three areas stated it seems that Club IT is running at a pace that seems to be keeping trend with other clubs in the area, however with some small improvements to these areas Club IT may be able to offer a bit more then the competition. Giving Club IT the advantages to set itself apart from other downtown clubs may give it the edge it needs to become more profitable and not just a passion.

Information management is an area that owners Lisa and Ruben have identified as an area that needs improvement. Running a small business is not easy and having both the funding and the right employees is vital to maintain a business. Having someone in charge of information management would allow for both Lisa and Ruben to extend their time to other areas of the club that might need more of their attention. The information manager could over see areas of the club that include “Customer relationship management (CRM), an enterprisewide effort to acquire and retain customers, often supported by IT.” ( Pearlson & Saunders,  2005,  p. 49).
