PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, is a large animal rights organization in the world – abolitionist organization. PETA’s mission statement is “Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on or use for entertainment”.

PETA has a product – ambition to save animals from brutal treatment & slaughtering, to make large franchises to have animal friendly environments, to gain more attention of public towards protecting animals and to make large franchises to treat animals with respect.

PETA's ethics have been on a single principle that is "Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on or use for entertainment". PETA has educated policy-makers and public about animal abuse and promoted an understanding of the right of animals to be treated with respect. PETA has worked through undercover investigations, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, involvement of celebrities, consumer boycotts and direct action.

PETA focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: on factory farms, in the fur/clothing trade, in laboratories, and in the entertainment industry. PETA works through public education, cruelty investigations, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, celebrity involvement, and protest campaigns.

PETA had a bold pressure tactics due to which it earned very good reputation for its strong commitments towards its goals. PETA being a non-profit organization would be very effective only if it can gain public attention. I feel that PETA tactics are reasonable and are explainable due to which it was able to achieve numerous accomplishments like Silver-Spring Monkey’s case, Gillette tests on animals, GM motors crash test using animals, Ducks being violently force-fed foie gras, GAP Inc using leather from Asian countries, McDonald’s and Burger King etc .
