Which input/output devices will I be using in the next one to three years as “computing” devices?

In the next one to three years I will be using digital camera, audio processor, cellular communication device, laptop computer, and desktop computer. 

Which features/components/form factors will be prominent? Why?

Features and components include multi core processing for running multiple applications at once, expanded memory capacity to manage large video and audio files, enhanced wireless capabilities for portable communication, increased optical density for higher resolution video, user friendly and enhanced editing capabilities for video and audio applications, enhanced memory devices to store and archive information, increased security to prevent contamination and to protect private data, and integration of applications to limit the number of devices and programs required to manage a specific task. Form factors will include faster wireless and USB-type connectivity.

Which features/components/form factors will be important to me? Why?

Using this powerful Sony software tool, Deluxe will incorporate 3D features into Blu-ray discs for its clients, which include Hollywood's largest film studios” (Sony Pictures Entertainment, 2010).

Enhanced editing capabilities are important to me, because this will increase the quality of the audio and video experience.  The integration of video, audio, and computing power into a fewer number of devices is important in terms of reducing cost and ease of use.

Which applications will I be using on these devices?

 I will be using audio and video production software, word processing software, spreadsheet software, communication...
