Over the last few months of internship with Club IT, it is apparent that seeing through the eyes of the customer is no longer good enough. To remain competitive and be a part of the net generation, Club IT must go beyond seeing and learn to work, collaborate, interact, socialize, and think as they do. To fully gain the knowledge and appreciate the technology, Club IT must experience it by upgrading and improving their information management systems. Through careful analysis and planning I have some definite ideas and opportunities on how IT could be improved at Club IT.
Unmistakably, successful product managers see things through the eyes of his or her customer’s and make the necessary changes as that base evolves. The so called “net generation” lives and breathes technology because they have known it from early childhood. To them the world of instant messaging, Internet, gaming, blogs, and social networking are second nature. The net generation works differently; thinks differently, analyzes and problem-solves differently, and uses information differently. It is important that Club IT promote this type of environment by providing easy access to the Internet by first offering free WIFI to its customers. As well as creating a website that will recreate the clubs atmosphere in a digital environment. The right type of website will contribute to branding, marketing plans, specials, events as well as sharing the restaurant menu. Social networking is another area the club must explore and join. It in itself is a new revolution of people who want to stay informed and keep others informed. Club IT should create a facebook page that will share pictures of past concerts, a calendar with upcoming events, blogs, specials, list of FANs, and Club IT news. Upgrading and adding these suggestions will recruit and retain new customers.
As for e-commerce it will definitely drive revenue by providing another vehicle for customers to make purchases. The new website will...
