Topic #1

1.) The product that my store decided to test was reversible clothing like that of what was shown in Lanvin’s SS 2011 runway show. Since runway clothing is the source of trickle-down apparel this is sure to catch on. Alber Elbaz (Lanvin’s creative director) designed jackets, dresses, and tops that were all reversible. This garment typically had a plain design on one side and a more formal and ornate design or pattern on the opposite for a quick and easy day to night transition. This product is going to be tested in three random stores to see how it sells.

4.) 317/.224=1,415 UNITS

5a) Ordering Projection Method A

1,415*13=18,395 units

5660*1.22=6905 units

5660*1.35=7641 units

=20,206 units

5c) Ordering Projection Method C

I tested three items of reversible clothing in three randomly selected stores; there were two dresses one less formal and one cocktail and a cargo jacket. “Celine” the cocktail dress was the most successful of the three with an 85% sell through and 40% percent to total. The second most successful was the tulle dress “Aluin” followed by “Brigitte” the cargo jacket.

First I calculated how many of each item could sell in a single week in all of the stores. This is done by finding how much business the stores you are testing your product in do in comparison to the total sales or volume by that company. Add those percentages, in this case three, together and divide that by the total units you sold in the product test. In this particular product test 317 units were sold in total and the total percent that the stores selected did was 22.4%. When those are divided out you find that you are able to sell 1,415 units in one week. However, since...
