Challenges of a Paper

Write a paragraph of at least 200 words identifying three challenges that might arise when writing a paper.

The three challenges that might arise when writing a paper are picking a topic sentence, using correct English, and making sure the paper makes sense. I think choosing a topic is the first challenge that will arise for me in starting an essay. When deciding on a topic sentence, I have to be certain it will detail the main controlling idea of the paragraph, which can also set the tone for the organization of the supporting sentences. The second challenge I will encounter is in identifying whether or not my grammar is correct and how to make the adequate changes. The English language has elements and those elements have rules that apply to them. I will have to learn the correct usage of those guidelines; for instance, the right use of the adjectives and adverbs, or conjunctions and prepositions. The third and final challenge will be in making sure that my document makes sense. Certainly, I need to create sentences with rhythm and variety.  Personally, this final step is the hardest part for me to overcome, since my primary language is Spanish. Presently, being a good writer is my main priority and is also what has pushed me to go back to college.

I have created strategies to overcome these challenges and become a better writer. The first thing I would do is chose a good topic sentence. Usually, the main topic is assigned to you by your instructor; however in this case, the choice is up to me. The first thing that comes to mind is “What will I write about?” or “What interests me most?” I had developed a questionnaire in the event that I have to select the main topic sentence for myself.
