Sample Hypothesis Testing

The purpose of this one sample hypothesis testing paper is to describe the results of a hypothesis test of one population mean. Team B chose the data set of wage and wagers earned for their hypothesis test. A hypothesis test is defined as a “procedure for deciding if a null hypothesis should be accepted or rejected in favor of an alternate hypothesis. A statistic is computed from a survey or test result and is analyzed to determine if it falls within a preset acceptance region. If it does, the null hypothesis is accepted otherwise rejected” (Business Dictionary, 2011). The hypothesis question formulated for this research issue would be to determine if a higher minimum wage increases or decreases because of education over 12 years? This paper will include the five-step hypothesis test along with the results of our findings. We will include raw data tables and the computations of our z test using graphical and tubular methods. In theory the level of wage workers can determine the level of competiveness in business.

Numerical and verbal hypothesis statement

Education is the largest role in determining wages in today’s society. The majority of those who have little to no education will make considerably less than those with a completed education. Determining wages of each type of worker is important because each perspective member of each demographic will want to know approximately how much annual salary is expected. Knowing the wage, one will receive is very important for one plan life out financially. With the given information from the “Wages and Wage Earners Data Set,” Team B will conduct a hypothesis test on a portion of the population according to the results from the survey of a hundred observations.
