1. What are the different forms of social media that exist today? Provide examples of different social media and their primary purposes.

The different forms of social media that exist today are Blogging, Social Networking, and Email/Chat to name a few. Below are there primary purposes.

1. Blogging-this allow users to create there own blog to put up there own self made information

2. Social Networking- I like to use Face book, Twitter and My space. This allows me to put pictures up, update my status on my whereabouts, and also be able to keep in contact with my family and old classmates.

3. Email/Chat- I use this for my Gmail account. This allows me to email different people directly from my smart phone/laptop anywhere globally. It’s also an instant way to keep in touch with family anywhere.

2. What are the greatest benefits of social media for individuals and society?

The greatest benefits of social media for individuals and society are having access to the media at the drop of a dime. Weather you prefer to carry a laptop, or you have a smart phone that you could review information on, just having the access at your hand is a plus. I remember when I was growing up; I would have too wait for the updates to come on TV, read in the newspaper. Now...
