Club IT, Part One

I am the intern that Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada have hired. My job is to analyze the information and technology systems of Club IT, in an effort to increase their market share and to decrease the cost of conducting business. Club IT has been open since 2005, Lisa and Ruben currently have a good understanding of how to run day-to-day business, but as time marches ahead, so does technology. I will conduct research on the Internet to find other similar businesses to look at their IT structure as well as IT providers to find the best and most cost- effective way to improve Club IT’s bottom line.

Club IT’s Mission and Primary Clientele

As stated by the Owners and General Managers: Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada on the Club IT website their Mission is as follows: “We, Ruben and Lisa, offer you live music, DJ’s, dance space and refreshments that suit your lifestyle. You are our friends, and we seek to build a community that meets regularly at Club IT.” That is a noble philosophy; cater to regulars and build a sense of community among them; word of mouth is a powerful marketing tool. I see several opportunities to explore in this area that need development to enhance the club. A more interactive website, newsletters to regulars, and special offers are a few of the incentives Club IT could explore to gain a larger market share of dollars being spent by club patrons.

The demographic that Club IT should try to capture is the 21 to 50 group, they are a hip and educated, and are more likely to spend their disposable income on entertainment. By changing up the entertainment on a regular basis Club IT can continually capture potential regulars. With effective advertising, good service and quality food offerings at the right price point the club can be even more successful.
