International Case Study: “Re-engineering the Business Process at P&G”

Q1. The re-engineering efforts of P&G focused on the business process system. Do you think other processes, such as the business system, or other managerial policies need to be considered in a process re-design?

Ans. Yes, the implementation of business system, or other managerial policies should be considered in a process re-design as not only the negotiation process is important, so is the human system, since the staff is a very important entity in the development of a company, and also in political participation. A company no longer satisfies the performance and moved for its desire to improve, developed several programs to increase the quality of service and efficiency of their operations. One such program was in the implementation of electronic data interchange, used for daily implementation shipments to supermarkets; this resulted in better service and lower levels of inventory and labor costs. These efforts also marked the re-engineering organizational restructuring. P&G has been distinguished by its proper brand management for over 50 years.

Q2. What do you think was the reaction of the brand manager, who may have worked under the old system for many years, when the category management structure was installed?

Ans. Would have reacted in a worried or confused stage of bother and that would have had effected the business because they must provide quality services, specializing in communications systems and work and subjected to constant changes in the organization. P&G’s ability to attain its stretch, innovation, and speed objectives. Third, achieving the stretch, innovation, and speed objectives requires a highly integrated organization.
