In today’s business world there is a definite need to ensure that the company’s number one source is taken care of, people. Human Resource Management (HRM) is a function within an organization that is desperately needed to focus on recruitment, management, and providing direction for the people who work in the organization. HRM deals with important issues that deal with compensation, hiring, performance, development, safety, wellness, benefits, employee motivation, communication, administration, and training. It also has an important function to strategically and comprehensively handle managing people and the workplace culture and environment. An effective HRM program will enable workers to contribute and produce to the company’s direction and the overall ability of the organization’s goals and objectives. HRM is expected to improve the utilization of employees by giving direction, motivation, and the training necessary for the company to exceed in today’s business world.

Human resources planning, recruitment, and selection process to me is a major part of any total company’s success. I feel that a company needs to hire the right person the first time, who is qualified for the job, can perform the job, and keep that person focused with the right attitude for the company to fully succeed. Every organization wants to attract, motivate, and retain the most qualified staff and align them with specific jobs that they are best capable of doing. The HRM provides this connection for the company, manages these tasks, consults with the company executives regarding strategic planning, and works to leading the company in suggesting and changing policy. If planning and effective utilization of human resources are not a significant goal for the organization, employment planning will not be performed formally, or it will be done in a poorly manner.
