Subject: The Affects of Managerial Behavior on Productivity

The purpose of this correspondence is the upcoming merger of InterClean, Inc. and EnviroTech, this memo addresses managements’ behavior and its impact on productivity, relations to employment laws, and best practices when operating within a diverse workforce.

How a Management Behavior Impacts Productivity

Management plays a key role in the productivity of any company; however, it is our responsibility to optimize our resources to generate both financial and organizational growth for our company (Cascio, 2006). Many factors affect productivity in business but the main factor is the attitude of the supervisors. A positive management behavior helps to develop a satisfying work atmosphere that encourages elevated productivity. Largely, our attitudes as managers, during coming changes will determine the company culture and employee perspective. A positive attitude will serve to build feelings of confidence and wellbeing in the workplace that translates to an increase in production. The cost of mismanaging behavior or possessing negative behavior from the management team can affect the company in direct and indirect ways. A direct cost of negative behavior is increased turnover rates, absenteeism, and reduced productivity. An indirect cost is the quality and quantity of work the employees engage in. Developing mutual respect and a positive attitude can help increase motivation, good behavior, and develop team players.
