A Brochure to the Holy City

Join us on a walking tour of the Holy Land as we follow in the footsteps that trace the beginning of Disciples ministry that begins after Jesus' Ascension as described in Acts- Chapters 1 thru 5. Please pack comfortable walking shoes.

Mount Olivet

Our tour begins when you board your bus from your hotel accommodations and you depart at the base of the ridge of Mount Olives (Olivet). We will walk to the top of the Ridge and share the same view of Jerusalem as Jesus did. From the Mount of Olives you will observe the Kidron River which runs between Mount Olives and the "Hill of Jerusalem" also known as Mount Moriah. Perhaps two men in white apparel will inquire in Hebrew of you; "Why do you stand gazing up into heaven? Here you will sense the events of history that mingle in Jerusalem- it was on Mount Moriah that Abraham prepared to sacrifice Isaac (Genesis 22:2) and where the Lord appeared to David (2 Chronicles 3:1), but on Mount Olive you experience the birth of Christianity where the Disciples first heard Jesus teach using parables and then witnessed the "Ascension" of Jesus -- Acts 1:9 "Now when he had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight."

Take the "Sabbath day's journey"

You will return to Jerusalem by walking from the mount as the Disciples did. Perhaps you will feel the same apprehension, sadness, and uncertainty as the Disciples also when you descend Mount Olive. It is a "Sabbath day's journey" to walk back --Acts 1:12. ( Do not get alarmed, however, as a Sabbath day's journey is only about 3/4 of a mile!) "Then they returned to jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey."
