Today civilized societies continue to ever evolve as well as small and large business
sprouting products and services to meet the demands of our societies in aims to keep our
societies influence updated, controlled and satisfied. However in order to maintain such a big
responsibility the organization itself must be controlled to reach the fullest potential of
effectiveness within the organization. Within every company no matter what the size,
implements its own management concept in order to reach goals, accomplish objectives and
meet company expectancies in order for the business to run efficiently and successfully. The
question is, is “How do we as managers accomplish this?” Consequently, today management
functions have been narrowed down to four basic measures which are planning, organizing,
leading and controlling. This composition will briefly discuss the basic function of
management and how these functions relate to an organization I have experienced.
Planning
Within an organization planning is the vision that the establishment wants to endure. For
management planning enables evaluation of the company’s current status as well as envision
where the company want to be in the near or far future. Once ideas have been acquired then
comes setting objectives and goals and establishing the course of action to reach these
targeted goals. For managers planning is consistent. This is because external factors
(uncontrolled circumstances outside the organization) are at constant fluctuations and it is up
for the business to be with these changes by making adjustments of their intended course of
action in order to meet company goals. Furthermore, this is where strategic planning comes
along. During the strategic planning process managers must consider both internal and
external factors that can or will affect the company as well as its objectives and goals. Once
