Allan Pinkerton was born August 25, 1819. He was born in Glasgow, the son of one of the police sergeants. He later died on July 1, 1884. During his life he became the benefactor for the U.S.A police cognizance procedure and the U.S.A greatest detective agencies. In 1846 Allan became deputy in Kane County. In 1850 Allen was the first detective in the police department of Chicago, Illinois. At the same time of becoming a deputy sheriff Allan coordinated a private security agency. Soon after coordinating the agency Allan left the police department. Allan Pinkerton’s agency was run with appositeness. Allan had a set fee and plus expenses that occurred during the course of action. Allan did not play favoritism to anyone nor did he charge extra for cases like larceny (which is very time consuming to detectives). Allan gained a high reputable stance with Chicago, Illinois, and became very good friends with the founder of the railroad station. After the civil war Allan released the agency to his two sons, he was still a part of the agency but not active in duty any longer (Allan Pinkerton Biography, 2011).

On President Abraham Lincoln, was on a posse hunt for Jesse James and his gang, and created a

Secret service duty (the first ever made) during the Civil War. In February of 1861 Allan single

handily stopped an assassination attempt toward President Abraham Lincoln that was to take

place in Baltimore, Maryland. During the Civil War Allen Pinkerton went undercover, creating

the name E.J. Allen. Allan created a secret service mission to gain military communiqué from

the Confederate states. Allan Pinkerton, in his life, made a tremendous impression on not only

the history of the United States of America but also to many famous people this commonwealth
