Dear President Obama,

In 2006, the United States of America was the leading global warming polluter in the world. Due to the many human activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels that releases gases like carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. I believe that The United States should lower greenhouse gas emissions by having stronger emissions policies and regulations in place for the auto industry to cut the amount of pollutants their product automobiles releases into the atmosphere. Also finding a better source of fuel rather than burning more fossil fuels.

One of the four primary gases that cause global warming is carbon dioxide and methane. Carbon dioxide is discharged into the atmosphere when trees, solid waste, or fossil fuels are burned. Plants and oceans absorb carbon dioxide, but due to the increase in the element since the 1700’s because of the Industrial Revolution, the balance has been broken. Methane is produced from livestock and during the manufacture and transfer of natural gas, coal, and oil.

Carbon dioxide is the gas that is most emitted in the world, the United States being the highest contributor. This is one reason why the fossil fuels, trees, and solid waste should not be burned. However, we need to find a new source of fuel that will not harm the environment as much. More Trees and plants should be planted to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide into the air.

The United States should try to reduce the amount of oil-powered cars. Transportation methods that do not use oil should be created to eliminate air pollution. Machinery that does not require oil should be invented as well to reduce carbon dioxide that is harmful to the environment and the people in the community.

Global warming is dangerous and an urgent matter that needs immediate attention. The United States should try to reduce or eliminate cars and increase other methods of transportation. Plants...
