McDonald’s Organizing Functions of Management
McDonald’s is one of the world’s largest fast food retailer Boeing is the largest aerospace company in the world, with headquarters in Chicago, it employees more than 159,000 people across the United States and in 70 countries. Boeing is actually two businesses tied together, Commercial Airlines and Integrated Defense Systems, through a series of corporate functions such as Human Resources, Business Development and Strategy, and Operations and Technology, (Boeing, 2010). A company that size with that many employees needs to have a strong management plan in place. Management planning is the backbone for any organization and a must have in order to stay afloat competitively. This paper will discuss Boeing’s planning function of management, analyze the influence that legal issues, ethics, and corporate social responsibility have had on it, and discuss the factors that influence the company’s strategic, tactical, operational, and contingency planning such as innovation, profitability, and environmental concerns, (Spindler, 2008). By creating the organization’s strategic plans and implementing a course of action for the employees to follow Boeing is planning the first steps the company needs to take to be successful.
