III Corps & Fort Hood Safety

The Army Traffic Safety Training Program

The purpose of this training program is to provide continuity of Army Driving / Motorcycle Training Programs throughout the Department of the Army and meet the requirements as set forth in DoDI 6055.4, AR 385-10, and III Corps and Fort Hood Command Policy Letter Safety-02.

TRAFFIC SAFETY TRAINING PROGRAMS AT FORT HOOD:

Accident Avoidance Course –

* Required for Individuals (military / civilian) driving Army Motor Vehicles and/or GSA vehicles

* Must repeat the training every four years (Provide supervisor with printable certificate of completion)

* How to enroll: Web-based training available on the CRC website – https://www.lms.army.mil

* The login instructions are:

1. Log on with your AKO credentials (Access and Password)

2. Type “traffic” in the Catalog Search engine blank and click “Go”

3. Click “Register” for the course and the system requirements sections and follow the procedures to begin your training.

4. You must turn off your “Pop Up Blocker” or you will never see the course.

5. Click “Launch Content”

6. Click “Army POV 1-3”

THE FOLLOWING TWO COURSES ARE CONDUCTED AT BUILDING 91083 ON WEST FORT HOOD.(EAST END OF OLD GYM)

Local Hazards and Intermediate Driver’s Training

* Required Attendees: Military personnel under 26 years of age who possess a driver’s license

* Provided to DOD Civilians, Dependents and Retirees

* 3 hour classroom course intended to reinforce a positive attitude toward driving

* Course Schedule: Mon - Wed 1300 - 1600
