Part 1: Synopsis of the article:

This article is a study on economic development and ecological issues. The research shows that the increase in income negatively impacts the environment. As countries move towards industrialization, the increase of domestic waste is expected to increase as well, leading to environmental deterioration. This has attracted public attention, and the emphasis falls on multinational companies because they play a pivotal role in emerging market economies. The managers of such companies are required to have a positive attitude towards sustainable development.

This article goes on to explain the reason why some top managers make the decisions they do, even though we cannot at first explain their decisions. This article discusses the importance of the attitude of managers towards sustainable development. The research shows the fear of poor short-term firm performance to explain decisions made based on corporate ecological sustainability strategy, research in this article shows businesses how to attain long-term profitability and viability.

This article relates to our course work because it is based on our studies on globalization and its effect on natural resources. The article talks about the considerations a company should make to hire the right managers who possess a positive attitude to promote developing, sustaining and transforming business operations to achieve success in a global market.
