• Utilitarian conservations is the philosophy that resources should be used for the greater good for the greatest number for the longest time and biocentric preservation is a philosophy that emphasizes the fundamental right of living organisms to exist and to pursue their own goals.

• Two leaders of utilitarian – Theodore Roosevelt and Gifford Pinchot; they argued that the forests should be saved because it shelters wildlife not just because it is beautiful.

• Two leader of Biocentric- John Muir and Aldo Leopold, they had unsupported facts of their philosophy

11. Describe some signs of hope in overcoming global environmental problems.

• The concerns for the protection of global environmental problems have increased to an all time high. Some signs of hope are that we have electric cars, we are more careful of the amount of energy/gas that we use and we are recycling more by using re-usable shopping bags or recycled bottles, etc.

4. I think that if the world lived smart and not misuse its resources as we have done in the past, billions of people will be able to live a decent life. I don’t think that the world would ever be secure and happy. I feel that other global villages are living much worst then the United States because they have much more terrorism going on in the world today.

5. There are so many factors that effect whether a country is rich or poor, such as life expectancy, the climate, and resources. In today’s time our life expectancy is very short due to the fact that there is so much killing, diseases, and drugs...
