1.Have you found yourself in an "Abilene Paradox" situation? Describe in detail?

Not exactly the same situation but we have been put in a group of 9 members not much of experienced people but among these members I am the least experienced one, One good thing I have observed is people from different work profile have been put together to sought out certain issues for some problems , during the two weeks I observed we did not have clear understanding of what is the problems and how will we take this forward, this is where we lack a proper leader.

Second thing which I observed was difference of opinion is not only when group has a superior, with my group we don’t have superior but yet we have difference of opinion, we feel free to express our views but delegation of authority and Expertise is where we lack in.

2.What behaviors have you observed amongst your peers? What about yourself?

During the case I realized why is it tough to say “NO” when working in a team, there can be reasons for it

a) Idea might not work.

b) Go with the majority coz you are a subordinate.

c) There would be a blame game if idea does not work out.

d) Saying “NO” to you superior is just not right.

As being a part of team why don’t we think if your superiors idea fails it’s the team and organization which is going to suffer.

The case says the same, the family member knew it’s not right to go out but they still did which coasted other member of the family—I think one “NO” would have made the difference.
