Each type of thinking uses the universal structure of thought. Whenever we think for a purpose, within a point of view, based on an assumption leading to implications and consequences using data, facts, and experiences to make inferences and judgments based on concepts and theories to answer a question or solve a problem (Kirby, 2007).

Creative Thinking uses metaphorical thinking an implied comparison between two things. Creative thinking uses brainstorming, which allows the mind to flow from thought, each idea stimulating other ideas. All evaluation or censorship of these ideas is suspended, thus helping the normal boundaries of thinking to dissolve, leading to more creative and unconventional thinking. Creative thinking also uses a process known as starbursting, this process focuses on a topic and radiates outward with questions. The use of this mnemonic E.L.V.E.S helps the flow of creative thinking take place (Kirby, 2007).

* E- Be at ease, relax, Creativity will flow more easily.

* L - Make lists, starburst, and brainstorm.

* V- Vary those lists between prepositions; prepcreate.

* E- Eureka! Recognize and enjoy the insight.

* S- Select from your creations, test them on others.

Scientific Thinking is that mode of thinking about any scientific subject, content, or problem in which the thinker improves the quality of his or her thinking by skillfully taking charge of the structures inherent in thinking and imposing intellectual standards upon them. Scientific Thinking uses inductive thinking with observation, hypothesis experimentation, and verification (Kirby, 2007).

Logical Thinking uses deductive thinking, via the syllogism. The syllogism is the kind of reasoning that begins with two or more premises and derives a conclusion that must follow from those premises, a conclusion that is in fact contained or hidden in those very premises (Kirby, 2007).
