This researched paper will be covering the following topics of the Automotive Service Association: A description, the contributions it holds, and the way it can affect career success. ASA is about representing the automotive industry in ways like, memberships, and education. Through the years ASA has evolved into an association in which, many opportunities are offered to its members for more than 60 years. Though the ASA association mainly supports managers and owners; many individuals part-take in its full membership opportunities.

Description

Based in Fort Worth/Dallas, Texas since 1951, the Headquarters of ASA has provided membership to thousands of people across the United States. Not only does the ASA support all good business in the mechanic/repair industry like the Automotive Service Excellence ASE, but it strongly believes in, “supporting vehicle emission I/M as a means of improving air quality and promoting vehicle maintenance” (Automotive Service Association, 2011). By looking at ASA’s website, it can be said that this organization is about offering a lending hand in every way possible. ASA prides its self as a nonprofit organization and provides education and training, automotive tips, job assistance, holds three renowned events, and even has a voice in legislation which, “helps oppose the monopoly of manufacturer or distributor of any automotive parts” (Automotive Service Association, 2011). Saving money is a huge part of the automotive world and without mentioning ASA’s marketplace, which is accountable for 35 member benefits, a brief description would not suffice. The marketplace plays an enormous roll by, “helping member save money on products and services and also offer special discounts for FedEx, Sprint and Office Max just to name a few” (Automotive Service Association, 2011).
