Implementation of Active Directory
Riordan Manufacturing network infrastructure within the corporate building, Georgia site, Michigan site,
and the site oversea in China, neither has any security measures to authorization users and or system to
have access to the corporate network. To maintain access and security level through-out the company
systems, Windows server 2008 R2 Active Directory with Domain Controllers deployed within each site
would provide the addition levels for security and proper access to any network device within the
company infrastructure. Active directory will provide the means to manage the identities and relationships
that make up the organization's network. Active Directory can provide functionality needed to centrally
configure and administer system, user, and application settings. Using Active Directory will be able to
efficiently manage users, computers, groups, printers, applications, and other directory-enabled objects
from one secure, centralized location.
Active Directory Deployment
Deploying AD within the organization will help to make sure that only those individuals who need to
view a file can do so. Active Directory Rights Management Services can protect a file by identifying the
rights that a user has to the file. Rights can be configured to allow a user to open, modify, print, forward,
or take other actions with the rights-managed information. One advantage of using Active Directory is
the Federation Services which is a highly secure, highly extensible, and Internet-scalable identity access
solution that allows organizations to authenticate users from partner organizations. By using AD FS, you
can simply and very securely grant external users access to your organization’s domain resources. AD
FS can also simplify integration between untrusted resources and domain resources within your own
