Diversity Analysis and Implementation

According to most of the present day literature, corporations need to increase their emphasis in diversity in order to create a better work environment and to improve their business performance. Research has found that groups that are diverse are more innovative, productive, and flexible, with more appeal to a consumer base with increasing numbers of minorities. Cox (2001) writes that these diverse groups with differing experiences are much better at analyzing and combating problems. A corporation must begin by analyzing and base lining their present day diversity practices in order to create a diversity program that will endure. The following diversity analysis strategy is based on a benchmarking strategy that was first published by Cox (1993) and it is divided into three sectors: The environment, the career and the organization. The data used in the model is gathered using surveys, interviews, focus groups and the organizations workforce data.
