According to me the case is all about attitude and both forms of reinforcements.
ATTITUDE :Attitude are evaluate statements-either favourable or unfavourable-about objects,people or events.The case also talks about the various types of attitudes i.e. 1)Cognitive component 2)Affective component 3)Behavioural component. We can see a glimpse of all these components in the teacher at some point or the other.
It also talks about the Cognitive Dissonance which refers to any incompatibility an individual might perceive between two or more attitudes or between behaviour and attitudes which is can be seen in the initial relationship between the children and the teacher.
Reinforcement: It is the process of shaping the behaviour by controlling the consequences of the behaviour.
There are two types of reinforcement: positive reinforcement and negative reinforcement. In this particular case we can see a mix of both positive and negative being followed by the teacher.
"To sir with love" is an incredibly inspirational story.
In the story, "To Sir With Love", various human
characteristics are portrayed. Of these, the idea that
humans are able to adapt and change their way of thinking
seems to be demonstrated throughout the story. In the
novel, both the teacher,and his students end
up going through many changes that ultimately result in
their coming to change their ATTITUDE. In the story, the teacher
begins with a set of preconceived attitude about his students. He expects them to be unintelligent, rough, racially intolerant children with
