ABSTRACT

• PROJECT ALLOTTED IN KB ENGINE PLANT WHICH MANUFACTURES THE K SERIES ENGINES OF TWO TYPES i.e K10 AND K12 USED IN MARUTI SUZUKI CARS LIKE SWIFT , A STAR , ALTO , RITZetc..

• KB ENGINE PLANT BEING DIVIDED INTO 3 i.e KB1 , KB2 , KB3

• ALL THREE HAVE THE SAME LAYOUT WITH MACHINES BEING ARRANGED IN A U SHAPED LAYOUT SO THAT LESS SPACE IS OCCUPIED AND MORE MACHINES CAN BE ACCOMODATED.

• PROJECT IS TO CHECK WHETHER ALL THE OPERATIONS BEING PERFORMED ARE ACCORDING TO MARUTI OPERATION STANDARDS KNOWN AS MOS COMPARING WITH THE OPERATION SHEETS.

• MOS ARE OF 5 TYPES

1. MOS Q- Q STANDS FOR QUALITY

2. MOS I – I FOR INSPECTION

3. MOS W- W FOR WORKING

4. MOS P – P FOR PRODUCTION

5. MOS K – K FOR FINAL CHECKING COMPONENT

• CHECKING IS TO BE DONE IN CRANK SHAFT, CYLINDER HEAD, CYLINDER BLOCK, CAM INTAKE AND CAM EXHAUST LINES.

• I HAVE BEEN PROVIDED MOS Q OF THE ABOVE LINES i.e CRANK , CAM , CYLINDER HEAD AND CYLINDER BLOCK. MY WORK IS TO CHECK THAT WHETHER THE INSPECTION IS BEING CARRIED OUT AS STATED.
