Letter to the newspaper

Our suburban community that offers all the amenities and benefits of a tight-knit small community, with the benefits of living close to the big city has seen it more than its fair share of illnesses. I have taken it upon myself to investigate and search for the reason why so many in our community are ill and what causes the illness that is killing our family and neighbors. My investigation came to the conclusion that some years ago, there seems to have been a problem in the development planning of the community that placed the gas company in the wrong place.

This is clearly not a case of genetics that is causing the illnesses of so many people. After I started researching and investigating possible causes for the illnesses that plagued the community and, after digging much further, I discovered that the gas company’s practices are to blame for the horrific illness. So, I have decided, at this point, to spread the word around our community about my findings so that everyone can come together in the fight for justice.

The information that I obtained shows that the gas company’s wastes are contaminating our water supply that we bathe in, drink, and even swim in, with a rare but deadly toxin that when mixed with our fresh water becomes the cause of certain types of cancers. My research of the causes of death for those who have died shows that each person had high levels of this deadly toxin in their blood stream. That is the link that makes me certain that this is the real reason why so many people have been affected by the ignorance of the gas company.

It is time for us to stand up and take action against the gas company! We as a community need to fight as one, and bring justice to all that deserve it. The gas company needs reevaluate their system that is used for removing their wastes in order to stop the contamination of our water supply. This needs to be the first action to be taken by them to rectify the problem. Their next step...
