Where do we stand with pollution?

Have you noticed this really long heat wave we are having across the United States? Temperatures are heating up higher and lasting longer than they ever have. Some people believe that this is just normal, while others believe this is due to global warming. When we look back to thousands of years ago our air was so clean and so clear. You did not have to worry about health issues when you wanted to take a stroll in the park. You did not have to limit your time spent outdoors because the pollution level was higher one day than another day. Global warming is happening right before I eyes and this is due to coal-burning power plants across the United States. The more coal that these plants burn every day is the more pollution that goes into our air and that is what we breathe in every day. You can see why so many people are concerned on this subject. There are many organizations out there that are trying to stop coal-burning power plants and switch to a safer kind of energy. Using solar and wind power can be the answer to having a cleaner and clearer future. I believe this is not just a moral matter that is going on here with Global Warming. You can see pollution everywhere and not just in the air. Look at what happened in the Gulf from all that oil that spilled into it.

In this community we have different organizations that help out and stay involved with different projects that deal with the Earth. We have the ones that work specifically on Global Warming and ones that deal with other issues like light pollution. Some of the organizations are trying to get a document approved to where this community can put up a wind turbine field and we can run off of wind power. They are running into problems like there is not enough land available to do this and there are farmers that do not want to give up their land. There are also residents of this community that do not want to run on wind power and want to keep things the way they are....
