Group Project Outline
Course: Principles of Marketing (MKT-202)
Instructor: Abdullah Al Faruq (AFq)
Semester: Spring 2010
1. The students are required to work in a group of 5-6 for the completion of this assignment.
2. In this project, students are required to work as a team to first of all identify a product or brand or
service (e.g. restaurants, fast food shop, superstore, chocolate manufacturer etc) that you as a
group want to launch in the market.
3. Once the product/brand/service firm is identified, the group can work towards formulating a
marketing plan that will achieve the proposed launch.
4. The project structure:
• Formal Cover Page.
• Letter of Transmittal.
• Executive Summary.
• Table of Contents.
• Introduction.
• Outline of proposed launching of the product/brand/service.
• Justification for launching the product/service/brand.
• Marketing mix tactics that your groups need to apply for the launch as follows:
o Product/Brand strategy (Product)
o Marketing communications (Promotion)
o Distribution and logistics (Place)
o Pricing (Price)
In case of a service-firm (the other 3 Ps will need to be included which are as follows:)
o People
o Process
o Physical evidence
• Future Recommendations.
• Conclusion
• Reference/Bibliography
5. Each group is required to submit the project by way of a word processed file. No hand written
project will be accepted. Spiral binding/Professional binding is a must when submitting the project.
6. Each group is required to use font “Times New Roman” or “Arial”, size: 12, Line Spacing: 1.5,
paper size: A4 only. No exceptions. For headings you can use font size 18 and can make them
bold.
7. Please avoid plagiarism, copying from your peers. Any form of plagiarism, cheating will result in a
“Zero” mark from the assignment and student will be referred to the University Disciplinary
Committee.
