Comprehensive Competency Dictionary Through extensive literature search and review of best practices, combined with over 30 years experience in the field of competency-based HR management, HRSG has developed a library of competencies that have been shown to be critical to organizational success.

Indeed, our research has shown there is a direct correlation between the demonstration of these competencies by employees and managers and increased performance at the individual, team, and organizational levels. Each competency has been divided into five proficiency levels. Each level has an associated brief statement describing how that particular level is distinct from the other levels within that competency. Proficiency levels are further described with a series of behavioural indicators. These indicators clearly describe the specific types of behaviour exemplifying a given proficiency level on the job. Finally, the level on the proficiency scales are incremental and additive so that employees demonstrating proficiency at a particular scale level can be assumed to perform effectively at all levels below on the same competency scale.
