System Narrative

A customer enters the LRT establishment then approaches the Passengers Assistance Office where he can acquire of the new reloadable LRT ticket card. He may give any amount that he desires as long as it doesn’t exceed the P500 limit. If the customer has the old LRT ticket card, he may exchange it in the PAO where the personnel will transfer any remaining balance to the new reloadable LRT ticket card (free of charge). If, however, the customer already has the new LRT ticket card, but has insufficient balance, he may reload it in the modified machines. There, he will insert his card and press the particular amount that he wants, as long as the balance of the card, does not exceed the P500 limit. The machine restricts the owner by dispensing any excess amount of the P500 limit.

Once the customer has his ticket, he will then use this to be able to pass through the turnstile and enter the paid area of the LRT by inserting it into a fare gate. The fare gate will then read the card and eject it. Once ejected, the customer will then take the card and wait for the train. After boarding the train, he will alight at his destination where he will again insert his ticket to the fare gate, allowing him to pass through to another turnstile. The fare gate will again eject the card, regardless whether it still has a remaining balance or not. After retrieving his card, he may now exit the LRT premises.
