Steps to Tranfer a Bike to Anothe State

The procedure to transfer your vehicle from Bangalore to Pune –

Step 1: Getting NOC from Bangalore RTO

1. Fill up form-28 in Triplicate (Quadruplicate, if the vehicle is on lease/hypothecation)

2. Submit it in your local RTO office. If your number is

o KA-01: Kormangala

o KA-02: Rajajinagar

o KA-03: Indiranagar

o KA-04: Yeshwantpur

o KA-05: Jayanagar

o KA-06: Raja Rajeshwari Nagar

o KA-07: Yelahanka

o KA-08: Bannerghatta

o KA-09: Nelamangala

o KA-10: Krishna Raja Puram

o KA-11: Devanahalli

o KA-12: Ramanagar

3. RTO will issue you a letter addressed to Police Commissioner Crime. Take it to Commissioner’s Office on Infantry Road (from MG road go past Chinnaswamy Stadium, go past GPO, take a right near Rajbhawan, and then take immediate right; the office is about 200mts on the left)

4. Go to City Crime Dept (it is called CCPD or something… the counter window is open on weekdays between 10:00–13:30 Hrs and 15:00–17:30 Hrs)

5. Give the letter and negotiate to get the Crime Branch NOC letter back by the same evening (else this might take up quite a lot of your time)

6. Take NOC given by the Crime Branch back to RTO and negotiate to get the RTO NOC – ASAP

Step 2: Formalities for registration of Vehicle in Pune RTO

Case 1: New vehicle < 30 months

1. Take the required papers:

o Address Proof

o NOC from Bangalore RTO

o Insurance Papers

o Emission Certificate (also Pollution Under Control Certificate)

o Original RC Book

o Invoice of Vehicle (should show cost and VAT paid)

2. Fill up the transfer and re-registration forms

3. For new vehicle, you are required to pay the State Entry Tax at the Sales Tax Office (The sales tax office in pune is in Yerawada)

4. Get a NOC from local police station or the commissioner’s office.

5. Take the following papers to the Pune RTO:

o NOC from Bangalore RTO

o NOC given by Pune Police

o Entry Tax Receipt & NOC from Sales Tax Office (you may be required to show invoice of...
