Music has become a popular form of media that is used for more than just entertainment purposes and has become a big part of society which allows an individual to express themselves through music.

Music has been around for decades and is used in many ways. Music can be heard wherever we are. There is always some form of music being played, whether it is while we are shopping, waiting on hold for an operator, or in a restaurant having a meal. Music is also used in movies which can be helpful to set the tone and mood of a particular scene like in an action or a thriller. This helps the audience feel the music and what may possibly come next. People will set their ring tones to play a song that may have some form of meaning to them. Some find that music is soothing to the soul and choose certain songs that have a way to help them relax or meditate. There are songs that people will use to relate to an event in their lives which can reflect on a special moment such as a birthday, wedding, or funeral. Music is found in every culture which can be shared with others. Every country has their own theme song and it is a fun way to learn about the other countries that have a National Anthem written about their country. Throughout the history of music, many songs have had controversy over lyrics and what the meaning may portray to an individual. Some lyrics can be vulgar or have too much passion that makes some generations uncomfortable or against their standards and religion. Different forms of music now have a rating on them because of the controversies of exposing children and teenagers to songs that had lyrics about drugs or sex that were too explicit and being interpreted in a wrong way. Artists have written lyrics to songs to express a feeling or a memory that had a large impact on their lives. A song was written by a country artist talking about the fall of the twin towers on 9/11 and I find it to be a very emotional song because of all of the lives that were...
