Reflections on 3 Idiots

I saw this film last week. It’s a story about friendship, love, and education. The main character, Rancho, is a smart person who substitutes for the real Rancho to go to school, and his real name is Phunsukh Wangdu. There’re many scenes impress me, for example, the professor ordered Rancho to teach the class, and Rancho asked everyone to find two terms’ definitions. But nobody found out. In fact, these two items do not exist. Rancho wanted to show everyone that students should not study for exams. He emphasized that students should study for the reason that they were interested in something fresh. It’s also a class for the professor. This may remind him that do not teach students knowledge only, but lead them to enjoy studying. In Taiwan, most students study for exams. Do their parents and teachers really know what the students want? Parents always think that they do the right thing for their children, but they do not really realize their children’s thoughts. That’s why there are many suicides in Taiwan every year. It’s important to parents that they should communicate with their children about their interests. And they can help their children to solve the problems together. Another example is that the professor’s daughter who was in childbirth, and there’s no any medical equipment. Rancho gathered all the students in the dormitory, and they made some implements to help the professor’s daughter. The process was very dangerous, but finally the baby was born safely. This event made the professor and Rancho establish a great relationship. It’s a touching scene. This film is meaningful. It teaches people that study for yourself and never lose the passion in lives. It also reminds teachers and parents that realize what are children’s thoughts and do not just use their own way to force children.(304)
