Your Internet browser is most likely configured to save copies of Web pages you have recently visited. This practice is intended to speed up the process of Web surfing, but having too many of these files can slow down other processes. If you have these files in your cache, someone else can also determine where you have been surfing. The following instructions are for Internet Explorer version 7.0. Other browsers have similar options. To delete the cache of stored Web pages in Internet Explorer, or to set the size of the cache to a lower setting, follow these steps:

Start Internet Explorer.

On the menu bar, click Tools, and then from the menu, click Internet Options. The Internet Options dialog box displays.

Click the General tab, if necessary.

See Browsing history and select Settings and review Internet settings available (based upon computer security settings, the options may not be accessible).

Note: If the menu bar does not display, right-click in the bar across the top of the screen that contains the address box, and then click Menu Bar.
