1. The FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIAhas received a loan from the International Bank forReconstruction and Development (IBRD) in various currencies towards the cost of Ethiopian Nile Irrigation andDrainage Project It is intended thatpart of the proceeds ofthis loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for MEGECH PUMP (SERABA) IRRIGATION AND DRAINAGE SCHEME.

2. The MINISTRY OF WATER & ENERGYnow invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for theconstruction and completion of MEGECH PUMP (SERABA)IRRIGATION AND DRAINAGE SCHEME, being a contractto develop 4,040 hectares for irrigated agriculture ("the Works") including earthworks for channels, embankments and site roads,associated road and drainage structures, a pumping station, concrete hydraulic structures and gated hydraulic structures.
