Managerial functions of communication and identify various types of messages are described in this paper. Analyses of characteristics of effective messages are explored in this paper. Examples of personal experiences with business communication in an organization are provided in this paper.

Role of Communication

The success of a business depends on advances in technology that include Personal Digital Assistance, Medias, and social networking sites. Personal Digital Assistants (PDA) are handheld devices designed to facilitate organization through a mobile platform. Personal Digital Assistances’ have been used by end-users’ within organizations for the last several years, as a great tool for planning and conducting effective communication. Laptop computers and some brands of cellular telephones such as Blackberry handheld devices functions like mini computers in that they allow the user to edit, send, or receive information from remote locations.

Companies use media such as newspapers ads, virtual news articles, and bulletins along with Internet advertisements to inform the public of their products. The internet is a location where information is stored. The internet is able to sort through billions of articles and information that is readily available based upon need of the individual requesting which can be accessed by the use of a few computer key strokes. Medias include many different forms of communications which provide vital information for companies to use and unify business.

Social networking sites such as Facebook, Twiter, and Craigslist provide vast information for the consumption of the reader. Social networking websites function like an online community of internet users. Depending on the website that a user may encounter, many of the online community members share common interests.
