Impacts of a borderless society

The impacts of two of my meals have on our world from an ecological and economic perspective, and the two meals that I have chosen are lunch and dinner. For lunch I had grilled cheese sandwich with a diet coke, and for dinner I had a hamburger and fries with a diet coke. List where you purchased the products from, I purchased these products from the local grocery store called H.E.B. Consider the chain of events that took the product to get from the farm/laboratory to your table. Where did each component of your meal originate? List the country that each part of your meal came from? Countries of origin:

* Whole Wheat bread: San Antonio, Texas

* Whole wheat bread-Once harvested, the wheat is milled and turned into flour. The basic process involves mixing of ingredients until the flour is converted into a stiff paste or dough, followed by baking the dough into a loaf. This is followed by the measurement of ingredients, mixing and kneading them properly, fermentation, baking and then cooling it.

* Cheese: Northfield, IL

* 6 Edible yet inferior cheeses can be saved and made into processed cheese. Cheeses such as Emmental (commonly called Swiss), Gruyere (similar to Swiss), Colby, or cheddar are cut up and very finely ground. After this powder has been mixed with water to form a paste, other ingredients such as salt, fillers, emulsifiers, preservatives, and flavorings are added. The mixture is then heated under controlled conditions. While still warm and soft, the cheese paste is extruded into long ribbons that are sliced. The small sheets of cheese are then put onto a plastic or foil sheet and wrapped by a machine.
