Civil Rights and Its Role in the U.S.

What role has Civil Rights played in the U.S. National Security Strategy:

Civil Rights are the guiding principles, the core and fundamental rights of the United States as a nation. Civil rights give every human being the right of protection without obstructing strategies of sustainable national security.

Basically, every individual has its own stand on racial inequality. The United States as a country is said to be the land of the free whereas some people tend to utilize this freedom than those of the others. Apparently, the African Americans have been given enough liberty as those of the rest of the Americans. Color discrimination has already been part of history. Today, color is not the basis of a person’s stature; instead it is more of an inevitable part of the diversity of human race. United States had overcome their racial inequality through the promulgation of racial equality in their constitution. The people have long way accepted the variation of human race, and so is the world.

The issue on civil rights is a very complex and sensitive matter not only in the United States but in other parts of the world as well. It can be told that discrimination had its history even before the first slaves were brought to America in the early 1600. Not until the Thirteenth Amendment abolished slavery following the Civil War did blacks gain their freedom. History reveals that people from all walks of life are willing to take huge amount of risks and sacrifices just to defend their individual or collective rights. When civil rights is not guaranteed and respected in practice, opposition and even social unrest may ensue.

The Declaration of Independence and Constitution of the United States explicitly mentioned equality among all men as regards life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.
