1. What did Bidder's Edge do that was different from eBay's normal customers? Why does it matter to eBay? Bidder’s edge does what they call an automated search for items on a web site. The normal customer’s searches using the websites search engine which they have to input the data a little at a time as not to over load the server. Whereas bidders edge systems uses a multiple data criteria for it searches, it can look for allot of things at the same time. EBay is a very popular site millions if not billions of people look in to EBay each day. If they were to let every company do what bidder’s edge, does all of those searches all of those search would probably freeze or fry the servers that they run. The normal customer would not have a chance at the products on the web site because the automated searches would find it first send it to a certain subscriber before anybody else would or could see it. At a auction everybody has the chance to bid on an item, with bidders edge the odds are lowered and so is the price and EBay’s commission

2. What is the definition of traditional trespass to personal property? Causing injury to one’s Personal property as well as interfering with ones enjoyment of their property is considered trespass to personal property. Therefore, by doing what Bidders edge did it was considered a personal trespass to EBay personal property. When they put the program in to search and did not have the permission of EBay to do so even though the other companies did those companies did not have EBay’s permission to do so. The fact that it would have used up very little space on their server is not relevant
