I. INTRODUCTION:

A. THESIS STAMENT:

Poe's short story "The Tell-Tale Heart" is a horror story about a young man kills an old man who cares for him, dismembers the corpse then goes mad when he thinks he hears the old man's heart beating beneath the floor boards under his feet as he sits and discusses the old man's absence with the police. With the skillful writing, Poe shows readers the dark side that exists on each people based on the way to tell story of narrator.

B. OBJECTIVE:

I would like to do a research about “The tell-tale heart” of Edgar Alla Poe to analyze the way using words of author to create a horror atmosphere in the story. Furthermore I will point out the hide meaning of story. At the end, I will stand out in relief of bad side human through author’s writing.
