Throughout this course critical thinking has already made an impact in my everyday life and will continue to impact me throughout my life. Since taking this class I have learned a great deal on ways to observe an argument or massage in different aspects to know what the sender is trying to get across. All the information I have learned has affected the way I read because I analyze the information different and it also affects the way I write because I try not to be vague in my writing to allow my points to remain the same to anyone. This class has also changed the way I process information by providing different tools to break down information, instead of just the reading to receive information I would do before. Now I am forced to look at the sources provided to be sure the information I am receiving is correct.

“Why and how could you apply critical thinking when evaluating each of the following?”

• Articles: While reading an article I can look to see if there is a slant or any bias toward one side of an argument and also look more into the facts of the article.

• Advertizing: Many times advertisements are funded by companies who make the product and are trying to sell the product. You should always research a product before buying it.

• Media: In much of the news it is easy to notice the bias but some of the news this is not the case. In the media some of the time there are personal opinions involve instead of coming directly from the source. This is why it is important to follow up on information yourself to double check the credibility.

• Conversations: When conversing with someone it is important they have knowledge of the information you are discussing. If someone gives information that I may be unfamiliar with I will always double check the validity of the information with research.
