1.1 Introduction
Playing on stage can be an exciting experience. You never know what you will do at any given moment to excite the crowd. Being chained to a guitar amplifier can be one of the most limiting parts of a stage performance. But the freedom of wireless roaming on stage crippled by the interference of local radio stations, other broadcasts, or the wireless from the opening band's guitar player that didn't get turned off after their set have led players go back to their tried-and-true cable even they are experiencing “tone suck”, cable length plays a big part in this.
The smallest of capacitance build up can really affect guitar tone. To make this really easy to understand, the longer your guitar cable the more capacitance will build up and the more your high end frequencies are going to be lost. This is because high end frequencies get affect more by capacitance than the low frequencies.
Many guitar players does not only encounter problems regarding tone loss due to long cable and limited space when performing, they also encounter having hard time switching two effects pedals at the same time. A member of a forum from www.tdpri.com posted a thread regarding this issue. He said
” Basically what I want to do is have two overdrives on at once for my overdrive tone but am tired of quickly switching one on, then the other. I want to be able to run them in a way that switches them both off and on at once as if they were combined to make one single stomp box. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!”
Another fellow guitar player from www.guitargeek.com wrote
“Hey everyone, I have two pedals I can use for a solo boost the second channel of my 2 in 1 or my boss od-1. dilemma-2 in 1 does not had enough gain to my signal for my taste, od-1 gives enough gain but kinda sounds nasaly and weak...if I turn on my od-1 and second channel on 2 in 1 I get a killer lead sound full and gainy, delicious...but is there any practical solution to this problem?...
