Misunderstanding Scenario 1
Who was the sender? The scheduler
Who was the receiver? The client
What was the message? I can not reschedule your appointment until you speak with your case worker due to the fact that you have missed two previous appointments.
What channel was used to send this message? The telephone
What was the misunderstanding that occurred? The client keep on insisting that I reschedule her appointment and I was trying to explain to her the procedures that I had to follow in order to get her appointment rescheduled but all she kept hearing was that I could not reschedule her appointment but I tried to inform her that I could but she would have to speak with her caseworker first.
How could this misunderstanding have been avoided? This misunderstanding could have been avoided if I would have just taken this particular clients name and phone number and had her caseworker speak with her first. Then the caseworker would have given me this clients name and number for me to call the client back and reschedule her with a new appointment.
Misunderstanding Scenario 2
Who was the sender? Me (customer)
Who was the receiver? Shoe Repairman (owner)
What was the message? I was requesting that this particular pair of shoes be glued and one inch be cut off the heel.
What channel was used to send this message? Face to face.
What was the misunderstanding? When I went to pick up my shoes that were not glued in the correct place and only a ½ inch was cut off the heels.
How could this misunderstanding have been avoided? This misunderstanding could have been avoided if the owner would have put my request down in writing and repeated what I wanted to be done back to me, also, he could have made a mark on the heels where I wanted them to be cut down think would have let me know as well as him that this was where I...
