Decisions in Paradise, Part One

Kava is an island country in the South Pacific and like most islands in the Pacific; Kava has been hit by numerous weather disasters. The people of Kava are resilient but need some support if they are to develop the natural assets available and provide the country with a sound economic foundation. A decision to create a greater presence in Kava by transferring some staff from Azaya Ranch Sanctuary is being implemented. The goal is to develop an organized satellite of the Sanctuary that will develop natural commodities, market the finished products, and protect the people and animals of Kava from natural disasters.

Organizational Process

The initial challenges that will be faced on the island of Kava are the numerous threats of disaster and yet our organization plans on using those threats as an advantage. The most significant attribute Azaya Ranch Sanctuary has to offer the people of Kava is our ability to recover from a disaster. In realizing the impact that our company will be imposing on the culture, values, and ethical foundation already in place, our gradual process of implementation will be taking into consideration all psychological, emotional, and physical states of the natives (Organizational Changes, 2007).

The first step toward officially achieving a greater presence on Kava will be to set-up shop by transferring housing, staff, and building material to the island. The early focus will be on establishing a school. Considering the primary age of the inhabitants of Kava are under the age of 15, we will begin by offering a free education to all those who will come. The purpose is to give the young people of Kava a goal to aspire and give them a feeling of self-worth. The school will be integrated into the daily needs of the sanctuary but will also teach the basics; reading, writing, and math. In the end, the desire would be to have a working...
